CUEA Partners with Lebenshilfe Tirol to Bridge Global Healthcare Gaps

The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA), a premier institution of higher learning renowned for its values-based education, has embarked on an international partnership with Lebenshilfe Tirol, a leading Austrian organization that supports people with disabilities and with connections to various healthcare institutions.
Established in 1984, CUEA has grown into a beacon of academic excellence and ethical leadership in Africa, offering diverse programs across disciplines. Rooted in Catholic social teaching and a commitment to human dignity, CUEA has continuously prepared graduates to become agents of positive change both locally and globally.

The recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CUEA and Lebenshilfe Tirol marks a pivotal moment in the university’s internationalization efforts. The partnership will enable CUEA’s nursing and healthcare students to gain access to career opportunities in Austria, particularly in the fields of nursing.
To prepare students for this transition, the program includes structured German language training, cultural integration modules, and alignment with Austria’s professional healthcare standards. The collaboration not only opens doors for employment abroad but also sets the stage for faculty exchanges, joint research initiatives, and cross-cultural learning experiences.

Professor Stephen Mbugua, Vice Chancellor of CUEA, emphasized the university’s dedication to forming partnerships that enhance student outcomes and contribute to global well-being. “This partnership with Lebenshilfe Tirol is not just about opportunities—it is about transforming lives and building bridges across continents,” he said.
As CUEA continues to nurture leaders for the Church and society, this collaboration serves as a strong testament to its vision of being a world-class university anchored in truth, ethics, and service.
